Grocer opens in shopping centre’ doesn’t exactly sound like big news. But when the grocer in question is Sydney’s super stylish Jones the Grocer, famous not only for its artisan ingredients but for its cafe and shop, things start to look a little different.

Designed by Sydney’s Landini Associates, the space is seductively stripped back and urbane, making delicious use of the original stone walls of the city’s architecture.

Here on the top floor of the glamorous Westfield Sydney covering 490 square metres this ‘Grocer’ encompasses a full scratch bakery and patisserie.

There’s also a charcuterie, an artisan cheese section, a European deli, floor to ceiling wine displays, a tea room, coffee shop, home wares and gifts. And to make this even more of an experience, there’s a master class cooking zone and a private dining room.

This is like no other grocer.

In a difficult retail climate in which shopping centres get huge criticism for the cookie-cutter approach, Jones the Grocer is a stunning addition to a successful city centre development that has brought life and vibrancy to Sydney’s shopping streets.
