Briggs-Hillier is a UK-based retail design studio founded in 2000 by Jenny Hillier and Adrian Briggs. From its base in Leicestershire, the studio has developed a broad portfolio of great work across retail, leisure, and fitness sectors, working with brands including Crocs, JD Sports, adidas, schuh, and Lane7.
Over more than two decades, the practice has evolved into a team of around 30 designers and strategists, known for combining commercial awareness with clear, functional design. Their work often bridges retail strategy and spatial design, with projects spanning flagship stores, brand rollouts, and international retail environments.
Recent work includes the Crocs ‘Icon’ store in SoHo, New York, a new retail format for the footwear brand that marks its first standalone flagship in the city.
For JD Sports, Briggs-Hillier has been a long-term design partner, developing the retailer’s flagship concept and adapting it across multiple formats and markets. The Westfield Stratford store, launched as part of this partnership, became one of the brand’s top-performing locations.
The studio also designed an exclusive adidas branded space within JD Sports, built around the idea of “confidence in simplicity”, and continues to evolve the JD Gyms format to reflect new trends in fitness and member experience.
Briggs-Hillier’s collaboration with schuh spans more than 20 years, delivering a modular and multichannel store concept that supports both the main brand and schuh Kids.
In the leisure sector, the studio has worked with Lane7 on its series of competitive socialising venues, including sites in Berlin, Altrincham, Milton Keynes, and Dublin Dundrum. Each space combines industrial materials with high-energy layouts designed around bowling, gaming, and social zones.
Now marking 25 years in business, Briggs-Hillier continues to work across retail and lifestyle sectors, focusing on strategic, adaptable design built around brand experience and commercial performance.
