Trunk Club is a genuine revolution in fashion retail. Launched as an online subscription service, customers create their profile and connect with a stylist who sends them a ‘trunk’ of clothes in the post. Now owned by Nordstrom, the brand has gone ‘clicks to bricks’ with a handful of boutique Clubhouses, including a stunning flagship in New York, in Manhattan’s landmark Villard Mansion.
Trunk Club reinvents fashion shopping as a pleasurable experience, with your own stylist, a cold beer, and your very own designer fitting room.
The aim is painless shopping that fulfils the client’s every need with minimum effort on their part – a service that caters to today’s overscheduled professional. Getting started is simple. Members make an appointment with their stylist, then arrive at the ‘Mansion on Madison’ for a personalised styling and fitting session.
A decadent bar and lounge area offers a place to relax with a drink prior to their appointment. Members are then directed to one of an exorbitantly outfitted selection of fitting lounges, each uniquely styled by a different fashion house. A clothing rack and accompanying footwear and accessories hand-picked based on a pre-appointment conversation await, with members able to review and try on pieces with input from their stylist.
The Clubhouse experience can be used in tandem with or instead of the standard Trunk Club service, and provides an opportunity for members to meet face-to-face with their stylist and develop a direction regarding style, cut and individual preference; stylists are also available for house calls.
Directed both at the time-poor and the fashion-forward, the Clubhouse offers a personalised, frictionless approach to selecting a new wardrobe.
