A luxury retail destination sprawling over three floors and 200,000 square feet, Tryano, in Abu Dhabi’s Yas Mall, focuses on beauty, accessories and childrenswear from top local, international and luxury brands.

The unusual combination of offerings has inspired a unique take on the retail experience, with the resultant space themed around a ‘Garden of the Imagination’. Each section has a seasonal influence: the overarching geometric design scheme shifts in hue and texture from autumn in the atrium through to winter in the beauty area.

HMKM has created an immersive retail experience that combines an overarching design concept with luxury cues and digital touchpoints.

Vivid topiary decor and luminous greenhouse-inspired kiosks recall a formal garden, while the playground equipment and tree houses in the children’s area speak to a family backyard. Products are displayed on abstract metallic ‘trees’ or upon shimmery ‘planters’, and each shopfront features a decorative motif that resembles falling leaves or blooming flowers. The walkways continue the motif, giving a sense of walking along a leaf-strewn garden path, while the ceiling is shaped to resemble clouds.

Dreamlike notes abound, with a ‘fountain of youth’ found in the skincare area, a geodesic dome used to house a makeover studio, and a modern take on the traditional garden maze forming a focal point in the bag department. A white carousel takes pride of place in the children’s area, along with freestanding turret-like changing rooms and playground-inspired product displays.

Services such as personal shoppers, interior design consulting, spa appointments and home delivery are also available, adding an extra dimension to the brand’s determinedly transformative approach.
