Spanish sustainable fashion label Ecoalf, known for its super innovative designs crafted entirely from recycled PET plastic, old fishing nets and other upcycled materials, has brought its environmentally positive ethos to Berlin with a gorgeous new flagship store.
The label’s first international flagship, the store spans 265 square metres on Alte Schönhauser Straße in Berlin’s central Mitte district. In keeping with Ecoalf’s B Corp status and environmental bent, the entire space is appointed with recycled materials – and powered via renewable energy.
From product to design, Ecoalf’s Berlin flagship is a sustainable experience.
Ecoalf’s entire range is showcased on minimalist displays crafted from repurposed concrete, timber and brushed metal. These form a perfectly on-brand podium for the label’s sustainable designs.
The natural world is evoked throughout the space: a rainforest wall lined with live plants runs the length of the store. This is complemented by floor-to-ceiling projection screens showing underwater documentary footage, a reference to Ecoalf’s efforts to upcycle the oceans.
Activist signage encourages participation in the label’s eco-friendly efforts, while exposed ducts and polished cement emphasise the brand’s low-waste credentials.
A seating area provides a place to settle in and simply be; a calendar of events on sustainability, design and urban innovation creates opportunities for education and further engagement with the brand’s mission.
This sofa area at the back is designed as a comfy presentation space where the staff can tell you all about the brand and its mission to clean up the seas and lead the way with innovative new recycled material technologies.
From product to design, the flagship is testament to Ecoalf’s commitment to the fact that ‘there is no planet B’.
Ecoalf demonstrates that stylish products don’t have to kill the planet.
